X-Ray Consultants, Mishawaka, IN
Providing professional radiology services throughout the Michiana region

X-Ray Consultants (XRC) serves the Michiana region of northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan. The practice was founded in the 1940s, when one of its founders, Wallace Buchanan, MD, served as the president of the American College of Radiology.

XRC has grown steadily over the years and now numbers 19 board-certified radiologists who provide subspecialized imaging and procedural services to three hospitals, an imaging center, a surgery center, and multiple outpatient sites in the region.  XRC also owns and operates a vein center and interventional radiology clinic.  In addition, XRC recently added a vascular surgeon to its group of subspecialty physicians.

The group has played a progressive role in bringing state-of-the-art imaging technology to the community, including MRI in the 1980s, PET/CT in the early 2000s, and advanced venous techniques for the treatment of venous insufficiency and varicose veins with the first physician-owned vein clinic in the area.

Its dedication to building strong relationships in the community has resulted in many alliances with local providers and a strong customer service ethic with its patients. The practice has deep roots in the region, where it has served St Joseph County communities for more than 75 years.

XRC is a division of Advanced Imaging Alliance (AIA), a multi-state radiology group that provides radiology services to dozens of health care providers, including nine hospitals operated by Trinity Health. The corporation is wholly owned by the physician shareholder members of the groups that comprise AIA, with no outside financial interests.
