Founded in 1917, Mecklenburg Radiology Associates (MRA) is the oldest radiology group in North Carolina. The practice takes pride in delivering the highest quality medical imaging and image-guided therapy services to two health systems with eight hospitals in the greater Charlotte region, selecting its fellowship-trained, board-certified physicians from the nation's elite training programs.

The practice is broadly subspecialized, with 55 plus fellowship-trained radiologists in body, cardiovascular, emergency, interventional, neuro-interventional, musculoskeletal, pediatric, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, and women's imaging subspecialties. It provides expert, subspecialized, 24/7/365 medical imaging services to eight hospitals and numerous outpatient locations.

The partners of MRA are active in organized radiology at the state and national levels. MRA neuroradiologist Robert Barr, MD, currently serves as president of the American Board of Radiology and is the past president of the ASNR from 2019-2020. The practice has a unique standard of care: MRA radiologists approach every case as if they were treating a member of their own family.
